OMG I Have SO Much To Tell You!

Hey there everybody! I am back after a week of being out of pocket in the blogging world! I got fired from my job last Wednesday afternoon! Yes! Shut up! I did! My boss, who I love by the way, came to me with the weirdest look on her face and I said " what am I in trouble?" She nodded yes and I said" are you firing me? " She said we are going to have to let you go! I said" why what did I do wrong?" She told me that it was a corporate decision that I had alienated a referral source and it is all about the money honey with corporate so I was fired rather than even have a inkling of thought that we would lose a referral meaning loss of revenue! I know I know! Me too! I was dumbfounded! But in true Poody form I said" you don't want to fire me!" She said no she didn't but it was not her decision. She looked like she was gonna cry!I said" don't you want to counsel me like verbal warning or written warning?" I just got the best evaluation of my life less than month ago! I told her she should just put me back out in the field! She asked if I was willing to do this. I said "Hell yes! I love doing patient care. I am a nurse. I am not into making people happy. I make people feel better and if you feel better then you are happy. If you are not sick and not happy and you are looking to me to make you happy then it is probably not going to happen." I went to nursing school not charm school people! I suggested she put me out in the field to do all the admits on the patients. I am good at it and my documentation is great. Then she said" yea I like that idea. You could also precept all the new employees and show them the ropes in the field."She told me to just pack up my office and go home taking a vacation day for the next 2 days and she would work on making this happen and call me the next day. I went home in shock to say the least and had the weirdest dream about being in Iraq hiding from the Taliban with Stockard Channing who was married to a Muslim man(he beat her). Hey, I have no idea why but that was the dream. Anxiety I guess. I got a call the next morning from the boss and she asked how I was doing. I said" I don't know how am I doing?" She said she thought I was doing great and then offered me the job of being the admit nurse for the company. I have to do 2 admits a day and orient all new staff. Y'all it is a great gig! I started my day yesterday at 8:40 am and finished by 3pm. Today, I left the house at 8:30am and got home by 1:15pm. I am done people. They are also giving me a company car with a company gas card! No more getting up at 6:30am to leave the house by 7:10 to get to work by 8am. No more getting off at 5pm to battle traffic and get home at 6 or later. Hell, most of time I never even left work till 6 or later. I am salaried so all that time after 5pm was free time for them. So, I am thinking getting fired for me was the best thing to happen in a long time! The down side of it is I am not on the computer as much as I was when I was in the office but it is all good. I promise to check in on everyone at least once a week maybe more. My home computer is so fucking sloww I tell ya it "works" me! am looking into getting a whole new system to tell the truth. I have to see how much income tax return I get first.I want you to know that during all that turmoil I never cried or got upset. I just prayed to God and said you know God, I know you have a plan for me but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I am leaving it in your hands. I had what alcoholics call an epiphany of sorts. I mean , I just gave it up to a higher power! And in true God form he bailed me out of a tough jam and gave me a wonderful gift! Thank you Lord!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did. I didn't work this weekend because I had been sick the week before and wanted to make sure I was well rested. I am sorry for this now that I see my paycheck. Can you say budget? I am on one for the foreseabble future!
I went to the IMAX theatre this weekend. Myself and 2 girlfriends went to see a documentary on Botswana and their huge wildlife preserve. It was in 3D and so cool! You could almost reach out and touch the animals.I want to go back and see the 3D movie about dolphins and whales now! They are going to have U2 concert on the screen next month.
My good friend Kelly is a BIG U2 fan so I am sure we will all be going to see that one. There was a big wedding reception going on at the museum where the IMAX is housed. It was a big fancy affair and we tried in vain to crash it but the guard shooed us out. Dang it looked like fun too!
It got down to 15 degrees here Saturday night! I am not a fan of the cold weather especially that cold! There is just no sense in all that. Heck! I don't even own any clothes for that kind of weather! I was thinking about that last night while watching that football game between Green Bay and new York. it was cold there and some of those guys didn't have anything on their arms! And the fans must have been freezing their butts off! My friend Jana's husband Dale says yesterday was his favorite day of the year. He looks forward to it more than the Super Bowl because he gets to see both games to determine the players in the Super Bowl.
Today is a holiday for Martin Luther King's birthday. There is always a parade downtown.Today is a crappy parade day though. it is cold and rainy with no sunshine at all! My cousin works for the state so she has the day off. jan and jana are both off too!I am jealous and wish I had it off too! I know they will go do something fun! WAH!Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Period???

This is an actual letter from an Austin woman sent to
American
company Proctor and Gamble regarding their feminine
products.
She really gets rolling after the first paragraph...

Dear Mr. Thatcher,

I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over
20
years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without
the
Leak Guard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never
go
horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer
clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white
shorts.
But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary
Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to
realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I
can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing
there's a little F-16 in my pants.

Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever
suffered from the curse'? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my
time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can
already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my
body.
Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be
transformed into what my husband likes to call 'an inbred
hillbilly with knife skills.' Isn't the human body amazing?

As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no
doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens
during your customers monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'.
Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and
cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings,
crying
jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's a
tough time for most women. In fact, only last week, my
friend
Jennifer fought the violent urge to shove her boyfriend's
testicles into a George Foreman Grill just because he told
her
he thought Grey's Anatomy was written by drunken chimps.
Crazy!

The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that
America
is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants...
Which
brings me to the reason for my letter. Last month, while in
the
throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my
body
and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and
there,
printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: 'Have a
Happy Period.'

Are you fu*ing kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of
your tiny middle-manager masculine brain really think
happiness
- actual smiling, laughing happiness is possible during a
menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the
least
bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James?

FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak girl, there
will
never be anything 'happy' about a day in which you have to
jack
yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your
house just so you don't march down to the local Walgreen's
armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your
life
in a blaze of glory. For the love of God, pull your head
out,
man! If you just have to slap a moronic message on a maxi
pad,
wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually
pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular
Manslaughter is Wrong', or 'Consider the implications of 25
to
life,' or are you just picking on us?

Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that,
effective
immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits,
for I
have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And
though
I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one
minute miss your brand of condescending bulls*t. And that's
a
promise I will keep.
Always.

Best,
Wendi Aarons

OMG!!

I am so excited I just found out The Counting crows are putting out a new album in march Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. If you go to their website site at countingcrows.com you can download 2 songs off of it for your MP3 player or just listen to them. One is kind of heavy for them anyways! I am so excited. As you may know they are my favorite band ever!
I am feeling so much better thank everyone for your wishes. I so laughed my butt off last night watching American Idol in Dallas. Leave it to the Texans to come out in full force for the crazies. the last guy thought from Nevada was the best! Honestly though, I really liked the girl Katy from Houston. I am gonna say she was my favorite for real.

My eyes are watery and I look like death eating a cracker. Everyone is avoiding my office for fear of contracting this fucking flu! I don't think I am contagious but I do sound horrible. No singing for me today! I just wanna lay my head on my desk and take a little nap right now. My office is cold as usual. I have a little space heater that I keep going at my feet. One of the girls is bringin me soup for lunch. I am so sick of soup I cannot tell ya but I have no taste for anything. I have lost some more weight as a result so I am thankful for that but I am done with it and ready to get back to normal. Wah! I hate being sick!
I am so glad that American Idol is back! Who saw last night? Let my people go!Tonight they are in Dallas always a fun place to visit in my book.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Tomorrow is my birthday! I am also on vacation starting tomorrow. Actually at 5pm today! GO me! I am so looking forward to not being at the "w"! I got a beautiful martini glass from my boss. It is studded in red rhinestones and has little red hearts painted all over it! I cannot wait to break it in! LOL! I am sitting at the "w" now listening to the best radio station in the world! KGSR. They play all kinds of music except for top 40. If you love music go to kgsr.com and listen to it yourself. It has an Austin flair for sure!
I just found out Velvet Revolver is coming to town! The tickets go on sale tomorrow 10am on the internet. Now, if I can get my slow ass computer to work in the morning...Wish me luck! I am so going to that concert! It will be in a small venue so the tickets will go FAST!
Today is the Rat Bastard's birthday! I always hated that. I like to start my birthday festivites as early as possible and with im it was all about him on the 4th! Whatever! Not anymore! In fact, I have deemed it my birthday weekend and possibly week! Side note, It is Michael Stipe's birthday today too! RB always hated him and REM! Not me I love them long time! He thinks MS is a homosexual! And I would care because...
Radio Freedom!
I saw Adrian yesterday with his little brood! He now has the 5 year old brother of Sarah, Jordan. he is adorable and smart as a whip to boot! I fell in love immediately! I gave them all Christmas presents and they were happy. Brock is doing well and has had no more seizures to date! He looks healthy. Adrian is still mourning the loss of Caden, poor thing! But now, he has the whole little family Jordan, Sarah, and Brock. How wonderful is that?
Ok gotta get back to the "w"! HAppy birthday to me!

Happy New Year!

Hey there! I hope everyone had a great New Year's celebration! I ended up staying home and watching the mexicans next door spill out of the house and drunk drive down the road. They were having a grand old time and myself and the neighbor across the street sat in the front yard drinking wine and watching them hoot and holler and pop a bunch of fireworks. It has been so dry here I was afraid they may set my house on fire! That would not do at all. The dogs were also freaked out from all the noise and stuff. I missed my friend Gail's party and I have not spoken to her since.I hope it was a good one. That's the 2nd party in a month I was invited to but did not attend. I am getting old!

Speaking of which,my birthday is Saturday! I am taking a vacation starting the 5th and ending the 14th. I have no special plans other than not working. I may go to Dallas -Forth Worth and hang out with my family and friends up there for a few days. Forth Worth has a few museums worth looking into.

I was pretty good about the whole diet thing over the holidays I was tempted to eat all the little candies and sweets people kept bringing to work. I did however have a chicken fried steak with a baked potato loaded with sour cream, butter, bacon bits and cheese yesterday topped off with a Dr Pepper with cherry and vanilla. It was good too. But that was all I ate yesterday. Nothing else. No black eyed peas for fortune or greens for prosperity. I do that every year and still I am poor!

Today, I am back on track but know that my birthday is looming ahead. I have already decided to stay on track and my cousin and I will be going to Lockhart for the best BBQ in the world at Kreuz's Market. They have prime rib and ham on the weekends! Yummo!I can get into all that and maybe even a little low carb ice cream for deserrt. The Elvis show is that night so I am sure to dance off any extra calories I may pick up!

I did see my family this past weekend. I met up with my 2 sisters and my mom at my friend Nancy's house which is about half way between me and them. We went into this little town Lorena and had a nice lunch and then shopped in their town square. They have all these little antique shops along the streets. One of them is in the old bank building and one of them was in the old post office building. If I had some money I could do some damage. I thought of you Cazzie and all the pretty stuff you would fill your home with.

My mom gave me an IPOD nano which I have yet to figure out. It have an account with the ITUNES store but I cannot register my IPOD! WHATEVER!My 2 sisters gave me a red sweater set and a docking speaker for the IPOD so I can listen to it in the house! GRRRR! I wish I could figure this shit out!

While we were having lunch my mom pulled off this ruby and diamond ring and handed it to me asking if it fit.It was too small and I gave it back to her and told her I didn't want any of her jewelry except for my grandmother's wedding ring that she wears with her own wedding rings. She took it off and gave it to me. It is platinum with 9 diamonds in the band. I love it so much. My grandmother raised me and she is more like my mom than my real mother. My mom has had the ring since Grandmother died in 1989. My sister, Angela was not happy with this as she thinks she should have any and everthing of my mom's. I heard my mom tell her later that when they got home she would let her go through her rings and get what she wanted. I could care less. I am so proud of this ring. It is the most precious thing I own.

I will try to come back later this week before I go on vacation but I wanted to wish everyone a great New Year!
