Flu Zone

Well,I am officially off vacation. I spent my vacation in bed with the flu. In fact, I am still at home with the flu! My cousin(roommate) got sick on my birthday the 5th. She was feeling pretty bad and by Sunday she was down for the count. I sequestered her in her bedroom and looked after her. By Wednesday when I was goijng to leave town I was sick and in the bed as well. I am still tryin to kick this shit! I didn't get a flu shot this year but rest assured I will never ever go without one again! I am miserable not to mention the fact that my vacation was a total bust! I have a crouppy couch and my nose is like a faucet stuck in the on position! My head is about to burst with all the pressure! Misreable! That is is. i thought I could sit here and type more but alas I am done for!

Sorry you're feeling so crappy, Poody. It's very common for people to get sick after the stress has reduced in their lives, such as completing exams or having holidays; there seems to be a failure in the immune response.

And even if you'd had a flu shot, there's no guarantee that it would have prevented the strain of flu that you ended up with.

In response to your question about my nursing traineeship, I have been working as an Assistant in Nursing, which is the bottom of the nursing tree. An Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, which is what I'm doing, performs all general nursing tasks (and some specialised ones) under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who has a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. The "endorsed" bit means that I can provide medication that has been prescribed for a patient, that up until last year, could only be done by a registered nurse. After I successfully complete the traineeship, I can convert to nursing degree, but I would be exempt from the 1st year studies.

See, you might not feel like doing a long post, but I can do it for you!

I hope you feel better soon! <3
