Guitar Town
The city took 10 ft fiberglass replicas of Gibson guitars and gave them to local artists to complete. Each guitar is unique to Austin. they are scattered all over the city. I have found several of them and here they are. Kind of like a scavanger hunt for me. Click on the picture to get a better view. I really like the one covered in Bumper stickers. One of them says Austin Sucks don't live here!

We had something similar in Houston: A bunch of decorated lifesize cows. I liked them, but I like the guitars better. Especially the Joplin one.
Way cool, beats the crap out of the weird statues we have in the main street of the town we live in here. Hey..same as Gary..we had some lifesize cow ones here too, but it was at our Royal Melbourne Show..well, I guess the kids liked it anyhow.
I've seen the cows in Houston... But these guitars are great!

Wow. These are really cool! My hometown did the cow thing too. But we did it first. Not menaing to sound arrogant or anything there. I didn't realise so many other places had done the same.

I love them! In my small town we have fish. Yes fish. I will take a picture for you when I can. I KNOW you wanna see fish LOL.
No I haven't found them all yet and I do want to see the fish Mel! I would like to see the killer whales and bears too Ms.L hey and I never saw them cows girls!
Kansas City has cows too. Is decorating cows becoming a wierd trend or something?? Odd. I'd much rather see these guitars! Very cool. Thanks for posting the pics!
I don't like the one with the bat painted on it, but the rest of them are darn cool.
