Another Day in the Office

I am still in the office! I have to be here tomorrow too. Then back in the field Friday. I am on call all this week so no New Year's Eve Drinking for me. I really do not care. I don't even know of any parties this year. God, I am getting old. I am sure the girls will have something planned but have not talked to any of them. I know Connie reads my blog sometimes so if you are reading this call me and tell me what your plans are please. Jana is laid up after knee surgery last week. Jan will probably stay home Gail will probably stay home too. Man, we are some party animals!

End of the Year

Wow! What a crazy month this has been! I have been busy working both in the field seeing patients and in the office to relieve staff for the holidays. My cousin Linda who I told you had been diagnosed with uterine cancer was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday evening. She started bleeding again and had a total of 8 units of blood. Her blood count was so low they had to build it up enough to do surgery. She had a total abdominal hysterectomy on Christmas eve morning. She is still in the hospital. She might get to go home tomorrow. Her mom is here and she has been staying with her since Christmas day. She wants to go to Houston to recouperate. Her sister, who is also a nurse lives there and her mom would stay there to be with her. I guess she feels more comfortable there than here. Her mom says she thinks there is too much dog hair in my house? Uh, yeah, I got dogs but what the fuck? Whatever! I think she would have a hard time getting in and out of our deep tub and her bed is not easy to get in and out of either. Those are both good reasons for not staying here. That and the fact that her mom would be in my house for 3-4 weeks. I love her don't get me wrong but you know how it is. Everyone likes their house way it is and not the way someone else would like it to be. In other words, it is a good idea for her to go to HOuston for a while. Plus, she can go get worked up at MD Anderson for the cancer. We are still waiting for the pathology report to come back from the surgery.
Onto to other news. I have been living alone now for the past week. I do miss my roomate but it is ok. I come home. Eat dinner, take a shower , and go to bed by 8-830pm. I lay in bed and watch TV until I fall asleep. Before I was staying up until 11-12 at night watching TV in the living room. I kind of like it this way to tell the truth. Dooley is loving it too. He is all about going to bed and burrowing in. He is so cute.
I am on call all this week. GRRR! Oh well, it gets my holiday call out of the way early on. I will have to remember to tell the person who does the call list to look at someone else for the remainder of the holidays for 2010!
I got a speeding ticket on my way to Fort Worth a couple of weeks ago! I will have to do the defensive driving class to get it taken off my record so my car insurance doesn't go up. I hate that crap. What a racket! I tried to get out of it but the cop was not going for anything but a ticket. I am so sure if I was a skinny big titted blond in my 20's I would have gotten off but...Whatever!
My birthday os next Tuesday. I was going to take the whole week off and go on vacation somewhere but now I have to stay at home because the dogs cannot be alone. Such is the life of a pet owner. Just another perk of having the roomate. That and she is the cook. I am hurting here people!

Merry Christmas

I have been so busy lately. I went to Fort Worth this past weekend to have an early Christmas with my family. I have to work Christmas Day so we exchanged gifts Saturday night at my sister Anna's house. There were 12 of us there and she set a beautiful table for us. My other sister, Angela, and her roomate made a fantastic meal for us and my sweet niece ,Ashley , made a chocolate cake from scratch!I so enjoy being with them! My niece is 16 years old and she loves hanging out with my sister Anna and I. I am blessed that she is this age and still wants to be around this old lady! my roomate and cousin,Linda, was doagnosed this past week with uterine cancer. She has been referred to MD Anderson in Houston. She has an appointment to see them Jan. 4th. I am so hoping and praying this is going to be alright. I love her very much and would be lost without her! So would Dooley! he already thinks he is her dog! I went and had my eyes checked and I am offically old now because I am wearing bifocals! But, hey, I can see clearly now!
My laptop has been broken and I finally got it out of the shop for $300 ! Merry Christmas to me huh? I wasn't going to buy myself anything for Christmas but, oh well! My sister Anna gave me a big bottle of my favorite perfume, Flowerbomb, which is not cheap! My Mom gave me a beautiful mirror for the living room wall. I also got candles and a food processer from my sister Angela. My best friend Connie, gave me more candles from our favorite little candle shop. I had a great time and was sorry to leave but had to get back for work today. I am in the office for the next 3 days and am on my "coffee break" right now!
